Shopping In Krakow?

I will be making a trip to Eastern Europe the end of November and I have been shopping around for a warm new coat and boots. Here in the USA, these things will cost me about $200 (added expense on top of the cost of the trip!).
It has occurred to me that maybe I should just buy these things on my first day in Krakow and save myself a lot of money. Is this a good plan? Is Polish made outerware/boots similiar to American (it’s probably all from China anyway lol).
Anybody ever do this? Any suggestiions for stores? Websites?
THANKSSSSSSSSSS!

Poland has similar clothes, stores like H&M, Puma, etc. You can get very good deals because of the exchange rate (they use currency called Zloty - no Euros are accepted at the stores) I was in Krakow just this summer and I got tons of stuff cuz it comes up cheaper! Just do the math everytime and see if it’s worth it! I bet you will find something you like and pay reasonable amout of money. You can go to the mall called Kazimierz (take the tram it stops close by) or just around the Main Square (the rynek) they have TONS of stores there too! Have fun!

Yes, If you want warm clothes, Poland is a great place because it has there own brands of clothes, good ones and must cheaper. Try the area near Krakow main square, RYNEK. The main ski resort near Krakow, Zakopane, has a lot of stores.

i’m only going to “second” joanna’s comments!! i would add - head to cloth hall - right in the center of the square - for a nice hand made scarf or hat - if you’re traveling around at all and make it to Gdynsk or Zakopane - their outwear is amazing!!

If you plan to visit Krakow in winter it will cost you the same. Frankly speaking, may be even more (it depends upon what brand do you prefer). Buying cloths in your home city will save your time for Krakow-it’s absolutely lovely! I think it is one of the best cities in Europe ( I mean tourist attractions, night life and prices). But shopping in the first couple of days…:( It’s boring and could spoil the impression (especially if it is REALLY cold).
