Travel In China

I won a trip to Malaysia through an official Tourism Board in Canada. I would love to go there as the itinerary is fantastic, so many things to see and experience…but I am actually really nervous and worried. Malaysia has an official “high caution” travel warning on it…it always does and so do most Asian travel destinations. I am blonde, white, and an attractive female as part of a travelling group going there. I’m unsure as there has been kidnappings, criminal attacks and such there. Additionally, the flights are on Air China..one of them is 14 hours long. I researched some on Air China and it doesn’t seem to be the best airline out there and the safety rating is not very good. I am a person that thinks very positively and expects the best..but there is obvious concerns here so I am not sure if I should pass up this once in a life time opportunity. Any advice, I’d appreciate.

Hi all. I was born in China and I am now 5′10″, a whole inch taller than my dad who is 5′9″. I took a trip back to the Beijing area and I was shocked to see that I seemed short compared to the local guys there, who seem to average 5′11″ to 6′. Are East Asian guys getting taller?

For the summer after our graduation, my friend an I want to visit several Asian countries (China, Japan, Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, at least) instead of the typical cross country road trip. She is an American citizen and a resident in People’s Republic. I’m an American citizen, dual citizenship with the Philippines. She can speak Chinese and Japanese, and we have friends and relatives in each place, so we’re NOT looking for a student travel group or anything.
What I want to know is how do we take care of all our visas? Or do we not need them because of our passports? I haven’t traveled outside of the country in a while besides Mexico and Canada. If we DO need to apply for visas, when is the earliest we should take care of it? Should we be aware of anything else?

what i was asking was that, is there any Asian Girls that can teach Japanese or Chinese. and i did not want people to get the wrong ideal, but they did any ways, i posted up another Question but the Yahoo tech people took it off, so now people are getting this crazy *** ideals about me but what ever i really dont car, and this is to finish the Question that i was really trying to ask, because i planed on going to both Japan and China with my sister on some business trip and there was one person teaching me but something ells cam up so shes not able to teach me at the moment, and my complements i was trying to be nice to get some one of Asian background that nos Japanese or Chinese to teach me with out e fending any none Asian girls but it did not go as planed, well and now that U no are there any Asian Girls or Girl that cant teach me Japanese or Chinese. i cant find any one on Myspace or Facebook, i did find to people on Youtube but they dont really be on Youtube at all so its hard to learn it, and i feel more comfortable with a girl teaching me then a guy.

I’m currently planning my first (short) trip to SE Asia and so far I included Singapore, Hong Kong plus another destination however not sure should I go to Malaysia, China, Thailand or any other? can you advise based on your experiences?
btw : I only have 10-12 days

Hi I want to backpack around Asia. I’m planning on going somehow in this order:
Venezuela (Where I live) -> Los Angeles -> Hawaii -> Japan (Tokyo, Osaka) -> South Korea (Seoul) -> China (Xi’an, Shanghai, Pekin) -> Taiwan (Taipei) -> Hong Kong -> Philippines -> Thailand -> Malaysia -> Singapore -> Indonesia -> Papua New Guinea -> Australia (Sydney) -> New Zealand -> Fiji -> and back home…
Most of this places are separated by water, and I guess air tickets will make my trip unaffordable (as far as I know), but I don’t know if there are ways to do some of the traveling by ferry boat or something…. Any ideas???? (Or places I must see, tips for saving on housing, etc…) Thanks!!!!!
