Travel In China

My girlfriend wants me to join her on a trip to Australia. I haven’t said yes, because I was wondering if visiting Australia is really worth it. I mean, I bet it’s a beautiful nation and all, but it’s pretty much Americanized. There’s a giant mall in downtown, a big movie theater, McDonalds on every block, and then maybe the beach. It’s really not a big deal and I’m not interested visiting at all. I would much rather visit countries that live different lifestyles and have unique cultures like China, India, or Thailand. Do you guys agree? I just don’t see the point going to a different country to see the same thing and do the same thing…

Hypothetical, if the Queen of England was Assasinated on a future trip to Australia & shortly afterwards we declared our complete Independence of the British Empire. Since the Irish dislike the English & the Scots dislike the English & Canada is already a Republic? Who would side with whom? Would Scotland & Ireland break ranks along with Canada and dipose Englands tyrannical stance upon her neighbours, would they help Australia, not just New Zealand and the Pacific Islands?
Would France once again take an opportune time to attack or atleast blockade England and provide us with our own statue of Liberty? As they did for the Americans. Finally if all the other Allies were divided, what of the US, who would the Super Power side with? Also China being Australias largest trade partner? Hypothetical, but humour me here…

Hi all,
I am planning for a self bagpack Australia trip for 10days during end of December to early Jan, my budget is around S$8500 including air-tix. Places of visit includes: Gold Coast, Melbourne city and Sydney city. I have the following questions,kindly help me with it, thanks so much!!
1. Should I fly to Melbourne and travel to Gold Coast by bus(or car), or should I just fly to Brisbane and then to Melbourne and end with Sydney? I already planning to end my trip in Sydney.
2. What are the airlines recommended? Quatas? Sg Air? China Air? Kindly give me some reviews about these airlines…
3. Any suggestions on my budget if I am only planning to stay in motels and not hotels? What are the places I should visit when I am in the three destinations?

I’ve already been to Europe (Germany, France, Austria, Switzerland), so i don’t know if I want to go back there.
If I did, I would go to Spain, the Czech Republic (I have a friend there), and Croatia (my family comes from Croatia).
India also sounds really enticing, but so do Australia, Egypt/Israel/Jordan, Japan/China, Thailand/Vietnam, and Argentina.
Where should I go? Which trip sounds the most exotic?

i have just come back from a trip to Guilin China and loved the rice wine more like wiskey really and have been trying to find out if it is able to be brought in australia Sydney.

will be flying with air china from london heathrow and im a uk citizen. Will be stopping off in beijing (only 3hrs). Do I need a visa for this trip? If so, where do I go to apply?

Hi I want to backpack around Asia. I’m planning on going somehow in this order:
Venezuela (Where I live) -> Los Angeles -> Hawaii -> Japan (Tokyo, Osaka) -> South Korea (Seoul) -> China (Xi’an, Shanghai, Pekin) -> Taiwan (Taipei) -> Hong Kong -> Philippines -> Thailand -> Malaysia -> Singapore -> Indonesia -> Papua New Guinea -> Australia (Sydney) -> New Zealand -> Fiji -> and back home…
Most of this places are separated by water, and I guess air tickets will make my trip unaffordable (as far as I know), but I don’t know if there are ways to do some of the traveling by ferry boat or something…. Any ideas???? (Or places I must see, tips for saving on housing, etc…) Thanks!!!!!
