Travel In China

I am a college student that is looking for ideas for a multicultural research project to conduct in both Rome and Bejing, China. If I can come up with a good project, I might be able to get my trip to Rome and Bejing paid for. The project can be basically anything I want to research as long as it involves both cultures, since my school has campuses in both Italy and China. I’m wondering if anyone has any insight into contemporary issues facing both countries, in politics or religion or anything, I willing to research just about anything. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have been living in Taiwan with my wife for almost a year now, and I will be going to Guangzhou in June for business, and I will have to stay there for most of the summer. My company will provide me with an apartment to stay in for the time, but the distance from the apartment to the office I will be working in is about 6km from and is in between bus stations. So I was thinking that I could rent a cheap scooter to get from the apartment to the office with out having to walk or take a taxi everyday. My co-workers who have already made this trip in previous years tells me that Guangzhou is really hot during the summer and that by the time I get from the apt to the office I will have to change my clothes. Not looking forward to doing that.
Does anyone know some where I can rent a scooter, or if it is even legal to ride them in Guangzhou?

I’m going there on a school trip for only 3 days. While I’m there they will monitor my temperature and I’ll take my own health precautions like bringing hand sanitiser and masks.
My mum is really worried for me and the thing is, this trip is rather important for me since it will really be good for my CV as I’ll be representing CNN. But is it worth risking my health?

Hi there… I’m travelling at 32 weeks pregnant business class from USA to Hong Kong and returning business class just one day into my 33rd week. I’m having a tremendously easy and healthy pregnancy - my doctor said I could go - but that afterwards, no more travel. I’m 30 years old, no history of miscarriages, and am in great health. Some people have told me that I should cancel my trip and not go and others say to go since I’ll have two more months until I’m due. I don’t know what to believe! Any thoughts would be appreciated…

2. a good hotel in kunming and linjiang.
3. are there a muslim restaurant ?

If you had the chance would you go to the olympics in beijing this year and watch the championship (gold medal match, and bronze match game) as well as attending an athletic event for the olympics? I just graduated college and have the money to do it. I do not think i will ever have the chance again, especially since i am becoming a firefighter (I would be there for two weeks and ending my trip with watching the gold and bronze basketball final game in the best seating venue—I am a die hard basketball fan as well!!!) Anyway, I am not sure if i am going to be wasting my money or not, would you do it have the chance? Do you think i should in my situation? I am going to get a job soon and the next olympics i will be working full time with profession (firefighter), any help is appreciated. I feel that in 20 years i will more dissapointed that i did not do this than spending the necessary $5,000 to do this and have a blast! Life is short right?

Our July trip plan (married couple 30+) is Chengdu (4 nights) -Song-pan (1 night) -Ambo-Labrang/Xiahe (2 nights) -Mogao (2 nights) -Urumqi/Tianchi Lake(3-4 nights)- possibly Kashgar (2 nights) - Beijing (4 nights). We haven’t been to Asia yet.
Our concerns are two : A/ the condition of roads in the possibly rainy period (how rainy can it be?) and B/ that the desert between Gansu and Urumqi will be unbearably hot in July (Turfan does not sound too appealing).
Please advise about our concerns about July weather. Any comments about our itinerary will be appreciated as well.
